Testimony of BAMDAD

My background is Islam but I never observed the rituals such as praying and fasting as I grew up in a none religious family. Since I was in primary school I didn’t like reading Quran since it was in Arabic but I had to. When I got older and in high school I was a angry person and believed that there is no God, and everything they say about Him is man made so that they control the entire world. My life was one with May trials and in the midst of them all I was seeking help from an unknown being yet I insisted that there is no God. I was very nervous and even tired of myself. Even my friends did not want to hang out with me and some stop seeing me. It was until ten months ago when I had an argument with my mom and went to my room and then to sleep. I saw a well dressed man in a crowded and noisy place coming towards me. The noise became less and less and he said follow me, I will give you rest and save you, Follow me. Suddenly I woke up wondering what was this dream all about. After a while I saw an old friends who was in my violin class. We agreed to see each other, and he too was a nervous person but now he was calm. We started to be friends again and I talked to him about my trials and told him my dream. When he heard it he was so excited with tears in his eyes. I asked him about that  and he said this is not a co-incident but an spiritual appointment. I didn’t understand him. I kept asking him what should I do to be calm like him? After a month he told me that he has become a Christian that this is the way to his peacefulness and the one I saw in my dream is the Lord Jesus Christ who has invited me to His rest. He said that if I am interested I can give you more information. I found what he said to me a laughing matter and didn’t accept his offer but since I was a curious person I said I like to know more. He gave me some literatures to read and some site in the internet to refer to. Gradually I became interested, and one day he asked me if I want to go to church with him. I went to house with few people in there who were praying and reading the bible. The pastor spoke to me and I told him about my dream. He too asserted that the man I saw in my dream was the Lord Jesus Christ. The pastor invited me to join them every Sunday if I like. I had a good feeling in that place and felt more at peace as I hang out with my friend. Although in knew that this is against my country’s’ laws and considered a crime to change  yet I decided to go to church. So I started to go there every Sunday and when I heard the Matthew 11: 28,29

“COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO ARE WEARY AND BURDENED, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. TAKE MY YOKE AND LEARN FROM ME, FOR I AM GETLE AND HUMBLE IN HEART, AND YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. FOR MY YOUKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT”.

  I truly believed that it is the Lord Jesus Christ who gave me His peace.  And His peace filled my entire being and I believed that it is Him who gives me peace. Also as I read the Ephesians’ 8:9 I believed that Jesus has saved me for he says: “ it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.”

My uncle who is also a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ has introduced me to Mohabat church and after hearing pastor sam’ sermon I stepped forward and confessed my faith in the presence of other believers. Now I want to be baptised in obedience to Him who said in Matt 28:18-20

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing in them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

May this testimony bring more people to give their hearts to Christ, in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
