Testimony 1
My religious background was Muslim. When I was eight years old, my grandmother taught me to pray three times a day (which is called Namaz, bowing down17 times a day). If I had difficulty in school or at home, I would communicate with my God by gazing at the moon for many hours. I thought God was in the moon.

My name is Parinaz and I was born in a Moslem family. When I was 9 years old they taught me to cover up and wear a Hijab. They taught me to recite the prayers at school as my parents did as part of the daily ritual. My ritual was only a duty and only for fear of going to hell I fasted for one month out of the year.They taught me to fear Allah, but I was asking myself if Allah has created man why should we fear him?

My name is Navid and I am 28 years old. I was born in Iran into a Moslem family. My parents were taught, as was to believe that we should be good citizens contributing to our society and to live in freedom. The political turmoil, lack of security and freedom in our country prompted my parents to leave the country; so we immigrated to the United States when I was 19 years old.

My name is Siamak and I was born in Iran into a Moslem family who were not at all strict about the religion. As a result I never really thought or looked into my religion, but I always believed that there is a God.As I grew older I determined to find out who the true God is, and the fact that I didn’t follow any religion seriously didn’t stop me from looking. It was a difficult task, and sometimes I wanted to give up.

When I was young I did not believe in any religion. My sister was a member in a Church, a church which supported native born Iranians who had converted from Muslim to Christianity. In 2000 when I was 22 my sister insisted I go to church with her I did not understand what was going on, so I started to misbehave and my sister told me to leave.

I am Fatemeh child of the Lord Jesus Christ and the heavenly Father, grateful to Him who saved me from darkness and invited me to come into His light. Four years ago when I was in Iran I developed a tumor in my breast which seemed to be cancerous. I was very worried. One night I had a dream in which I was giving a feast to fulfill my vows to one the Moslem saints.

Since I was in primary school I didn’t like reading Quran since it was in Arabic but I had to. When I got older and in high school I was a angry person and believed that there is no God, and everything they say about Him is man made so that they control the entire world.

In my religion God portrayed as an angry God constantly reminding us of fires of hell and judgment. Even if you had sinned once you were going to hell, and as I considered myself a sinner I was constantly living in fear of judgement and hell.

I was born and raised in a none religious and intellectual family. I went to a none religious high school where most of my classmates were Zoroastrian, Baha’i or Christian. Two years before I finish high school the Islamic revolution took place and everything was changed. I still was in contact with most of my classmates.

Jesus Christ is alive today and changing lives. Today He is able to fulfil all the promises mentioned in the book of life.
From the early childhood memories I knew many good things about God. About His holiness, and mercies I have heard and learned much but all these attributes were only for Him and I had no part in that.
