Testimony of Mehdi

I was born in a religious Muslim family. My parents followed their faith closely by observing all the rituals such as prayers and fasting, and they taught me to do the same. In my religion God portrayed as an angry God constantly reminding us of fires of hell and judgment. Even if you had sinned once you were going to hell, and as I considered myself a sinner I was constantly living in fear of judgement and hell. Few years ago I befriended with someone who was a Christian and lived close to a church.  I often passed by the church in order to go visit him. One day someone or something compelled me to go to this church. The atmosphere was peaceful and spiritual and I had a feeling that I never had in any other spiritual places. That same day I asked my friend to tell me about Christianity which he gladly accepted. Gradually I became familiar with God’s word and one night as I was driving in the highway outside the city boundary, due to the negligence of a truck driver to avoid colliding with him I was thrown out of the road and while my car was rolling over and over I called upon the name of Christ to help me. Moments after that in the darkness of the night I saw a man in white taking me out of the crumbled car and disappeared after.  I believe with my whole being that it was the Lord Jesus Christ who said in John 16:24

“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name, ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”

After coming to Toronto, on my way to work I saw the sign for Mohabat Church, I was watching their programs on the web.  I came to Mohabat church along with my wife and Pastor Sam prayed for me, I then confessed my sins and gave my heart to Christ. At that time the fear of death and hell left me and I was assured of my eternal life with Christ. I found the truth in Christ and peace came into my life. Just as it said in John 8:32

“Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

The Lord Jesus Christ answered my prayers and gave me the chance to attend church freely and participate in corporate prayers. He enabled me to do His will and remain in His love forever.

Now I want to be identified with Him dying to my sin and rising into new life with Jesus Christ. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Am
