Testimony of SHAHRZAD

John 5:65

He went on to say “this is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them”.

I was born in a religious family; I felt the presence of God in all aspects of my life. From a very early age, I tried to do all the rituals of the faith although it was very hard for me specially fasting for a whole month.  Since I was very week fasting often would cause me to collapse and end up at the hospital. I remember asking myself why doesn’t God who is all powerful help me. Since then I had often felt being an unworthy sinner since I was not able to fast and had many missed prayers. I was terrified of hell and did not know how I can be saved. As I grew up I was thinking that this cannot be true, trying to find the answer by speaking with those who were more knowledgeable than myself.  Often these conversations ended up nowhere. One day I came to know someone who was converted from Islam to Christianity. She helped me find some answers to my many questions such as the creation and the meaning of life. Since she was a very peaceful person I was more keen to know about Christianity. So I requested to participate in their gathering. From the very beginning I felt the love of Christ and His love filled my life with such joy that I had to share it with my family as well. My mom after hearing me did disagreed and resented me. Sometimes later my mother had to be hospitalized due to a eye infection. I was very distressed and could not do anything to help her. She was getting worst and the doctors were not very hopeful that she could be saved.  I could not see her in that condition. One night I was sitting by her and crying quietly. I fell on my knees and called upon the Lord Jesus Christ. I prayed and asked Him to heal my mom. The next day my mom told me that she had seen a man in her dream that put his hand on her eyes saying to her that your sins are forgiven. Two days after the test result on her eyes showed that the infection has been reduced. The doctor was very surprised and said that this can be nothing but a miracle. I was sure that the Lord Jesus Christ heard my prayers and healed my mom. From that time onwards my mom stopped opposing me about my new found faith in Christ. She too opened her heart and let the love of Christ illumine it. Few months later I migrated to Canada along with my husband.  A Few weeks after he suggested that we should attend a church so we came to Mohabat church. After knowing Pastor Sam he prayed for me and I confessed my sins and affirmed my faith in Christ to him.

Now I have a different approach towards life.  I have much peace and joy as I attend all the weekly programs at the church. I want to be baptised now to obey my Lord as He commanded us to do, I want to die to my sins and rise again to new life in Christ and to live with him forever. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
